Dr. deJager graduated from Onderstepoort School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pretoria. She was in private practice for several years working mainly with small animals, but also with dairy cows and horses. She subsequently obrained a Masters Degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she also completed a residency in cardiology.
